Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) and Intermediate Apprenticeship

Awarding Body

Entry Requirements

  • You need to be working in a health or social care role for a minimum of 16 hours per week.

  • You must be at least 16 years old.

  • You do not need to hold a Level 1 in Health and Social Care before starting the Level 2 qualification.

  • You do not need to hold GCSEs.

Delivery comprises of the following elements:

  • Technical Certificate
  • Level 2 QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care (previously NVQ)
  • Functional Skills training in Maths and English
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) and Personal Learning & Thinking Skills

Key Facts

  • The aim of this qualification is give you the initial knowledge and experience to work in a care role. You do not need to have any previous experience, and you will gain the skills required to thrive in the work environment, including knowledge of the practices, legislation and procedures required in any care role.

  • Upon achievement of this qualification, you can progress to the Level 3 Diploma qualification with the confidence and experience to excel.

  • This qualification is delivered online using the Laser® learning programme. You will be assigned to a personal tutor for the duration of the qualification and will be visited in the workplace for practical observation.

  • This qualification takes up to 12 months to complete, or a minimum of 366 days as part of an Apprenticeship programme.

  • Apprenticeship qualifications are of no cost to you. Please speak to our Enrolment Team about your funding eligibility.

  • If you do not wish to do an Apprenticeship, the cost of the course is £1,100. This cost includes everything you need, including: registration with the awarding body, your learning programme, your personal tutor, and certification.

  • The cost of the course can be paid in one go, or using our interest free monthly payment plan. Our payment plan requires an initial deposit of £200.

Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) and Advanced Apprenticeship

Entry Requirements

  • You need to be working in a health or social care role for a minimum of 16 hours per week.

  • You must be at least 16 years old.

  • You do not need to hold a Level 2 in Health and Social Care before starting the Level 3 qualification.

  • You do not need to hold GCSEs.

  • You must be in the relevant senior job role in order to meet the requirements of this award.

Delivery comprises of the following elements:

  • Technical Certificate
  • Level 3 QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care (previously NVQ)
  • Functional Skills training in Maths and English
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) and Personal Learning & Thinking Skills

Key Facts

  • The aim of this qualification is to build on the knowledge and experience you have previously gained in your care role. This level of qualification is suitable for those already working in a senior role, or working towards supervisory and management roles.

  • This qualification has three pathways: Generic Health and Social Care, Dementia, and Learning Disability.

  • Upon achievement of this qualification, you can progress into numerous care job roles in the statutory, voluntary or private sectors. Holding a Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification will enhance your career prospects within the sector. You may also choose to specialise your knowledge and skills with further qualifications in the future.

  • This qualification is delivered online using the Laser® learning programme. You will be assigned to a personal tutor for the duration of the qualification and will be visited in the workplace for practical observation.

  • This qualification takes up to 12 months to complete, or a minimum of 366 days as part of an Apprenticeship programme.

  • You need to be working in a health or social care supervisory or management role for a minimum of 16 hours per week.

  • You must be at least 19 years old.

  • You need to hold a Level 3 in a related area before starting the Level 5 qualification.

  • You do not need to hold GCSEs.

Key Facts

  • The aim of this qualification is to build on the knowledge and experience you have previously gained in your care role, whilst giving you the skills to lead and manage your team. This qualification is geared towards senior practitioners.

  • This qualification has three pathways: Management, Residential Services, and Advanced Practice.

  • Upon achievement of this qualification, you can progress into numerous care job roles in the statutory, voluntary or private sectors. Holding a Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification will enhance your career prospects for management and senior roles.

  • This qualification is delivered online using the Laser® learning programme. You will be assigned to a personal tutor for the duration of the qualification and will be visited in the workplace for practical observation.

  • This qualification takes up to 12 months to complete, or a minimum of 366 days as part of an Apprenticeship programme.
